This publication teaches people how to predict the weather using a barometer in a visually interesting way. Instead of a typical instruction manual, this 32-page publication celebrates the functions and appearance of a barometer.
The narrative dissects the instrument and explains the barometer's function and how it forecasts the short-term weather. The publication starts with the dial at the front of a barometer then travels through the internal pieces in a stop motion movement. The audience can look inside the french folds and discover the component's name and what it does. I drew pieces of the barometer and laser cut the shapes before letter pressing them onto weather maps. There are also transparent pages with the composition of the parts on, creating a layering effect, showing the viewer how the barometer looks inside.
